Just Some News

This weekend, my parents are bringing my 2 nephews, Jonas and Kabe out for a visit. (Kris and Rick are away.) Dad is going to help somewhat with the house.

Last night, Marc told me that he thinks that we will be ready to move into the house in about 3 weeks. Then, this morning he spoke with our cabinet guy and found out that he has another big project to do that will put him back about a month. About 2 weeks or so ago, he told us that it would be about 3 weeks until our cabinets would be done. It seems to Marc and I that this big-money project was bumped up. Marc told him that wasn't OK. (Well, OK, maybe Marc said a little more than that!) I'm not sure what's going to happen, but you can be darn sure that we'll have someone else do our cabinets if he can't keep his word.

Our wood floor is going in as we speak. I will try to get out there tonight and take photos to put on here. Our tile has been done for a couple weeks. The woodwork (trim) has been going on over the last couple weeks. It looks beautiful. Marc and a couple friends stained and varnished all the oak in the house. That took forever! We had to have the cherry professionally done due to the special finish we are having on it. The garage should be poured this week. Marc had to clean all the dust and dirt from the rooms so we could start the furnace cuz the wood floors have to be kept at a certain temp. (I helped for 1 day!) Most of the lights are up. We have to pick out the faucets and the bathroom vanity lights. There is a lot left (for Marc) to do yet, but we are getting excited! (Well, not Marc . . . he is getting burned out! Not to mention the fact that our house hasn't sold yet. Speaking of . . .)

We had a showing yesterday on our current house. We hadn't had one for over 3 weeks, so our house was a pit. We had very little notice to get it all together. Marc's mom took the kids while I worked my tail off to get it ready. I thought I was gonna get done just in the nick of time, . . .then THEY SHOWED UP EARLY!!! I was so embarrased! My kitchen floor, which has to wait until last cuz it's the center of the house, was still filthy!

Anyway, it was an older lady looking at the house. Our house is really set up for a family with kids due to the fenced in yard and the play system and sandbox. Not to mention the downstairs laundry and master suite. So, nothing will probably come of it. So far, I haven't heard any comments, good or bad, about the showing. I will update if we get an offer! :)

I'm back to singing in church. Last Sunday was a crazy morning. I was called to fill in last minute for someone who basically backed out of singing a solo with the choir. For starters, my CD player decided not to work this week. I thought it just needed to be cleaned, so instead of buying a new cheap CD player, I bought a cleaner. NOPE, I need a CD player! So, I couldn't practice the song! Then, on Sunday morning, I had to get the kids ready by myself that morning. I had all my ducks in a row the night before. I was going to get to the church early and practice the song since I couldn't at home very much. Instead, I slept through my alarm and woke up and hour and a half late! I cruised!!! I got to church about 3 minutes after we were supposed to start rehearsing. I'm supposed to sing again this week. This time, my parents will be here to help with the kids!

I will write more later. Gotta take a shower while Asher's sleeping!
