Marc and I are looking for a cheap flight to a quick getaway destination for a long weekend. We have only one weekend that will work, so it won't be long until you see those photos also. He's going to be busy at work very soon, so it's now or October (no, wait, that's hunting) . . . or November. We need some time together without work or projects or kids or babies . . . or game shows! (We got the Game Show Network, and Marc is addicted! AUGHHH! Those hosts are as obnoxious as their reputation suggests!)
Joshua has been catching toads and frogs galore! He's got a HUGE rubbermaid tote (that we lost the cover to) full of creatures hopping here and there. He also has a lizard of some sort that he found in our window well. He's in HEAVEN! Hanna has even hopped on the band wagon. (No pun intended!) She actually held a toad last week. If you know Hanna at all, your jaw would drop open!
Speaking of Hanna, she has been doing really well with her selective mutism. She has spoken to 3 different people in the last month. Granted, they all have to be strangers that she only knows from our home, not out in the public. But this is a huge step for her.
Hanna's best friend was going to be homeschooled this year, but they have changed their plans within the past couple weeks, so now she will be going to the school Hanna has wanted to go to. I started wondering if maybe it would be good for her to break out of her shell at school since she seems to be on the verge and she's been wanting to go. I spoke with Hanna about it. She actually said she'd rather be homeschooled. I think the decision is made. Besides, she's come a long way in spite of being homeschooled. She's a determined little girl, so I know that if she wants to, she will -- if she doesn't, she won't -- no matter where she goes to school.
This year hopefully will be more fun for them than last year, cuz we were so overwhelmed last year with other things that I didn't spend more time than I had to on school. We did only the bare minimum. This year will be better.
I am in the process of downloading some photos from my camara, so I will post some new ones of the chid-lettes when that's done.
Here they are:
Hanna in Kinderball - T-Ball for Kindergarteners.
Joshua in Baseball. This will be his last year. This photo is the most focused he looked all season. I could've taken some of him sitting out in left field, talking to his friends, etc.
