Colorado Getaway

Hey, All! We're back from a beautiful trip to Vail, CO. Here are some of the hightlights:

The first day we went to see Marc's great aunt, Gloria. She lives about 2 1/2 hours from Vail. We spent the day with her. It was a nice visit. We went to Red Lobster and then to this candy company that has the BEST toffee! Then we went to her house for some coffee and a visit.

We went to Glenwood Springs to the Adventure Park there, and we rode a gondola up to the top of a mountain to where the amuzement park was.
It was pretty lame with the exception of a couple rides: the swing shot and the canyon glider. The first photos are of the swing shot. The video is of the canyon glider.

This is the car we drove on the canyon glider. Here is the video of me driving it:

The view from the amusement park was magnificent!

We stayed in Lionshead Village in Vail. (For those of you that aren't familiar with Vail, it is composed of separate hotel "neighborhoods" called Villages. There are restaurants and shops in these villages as well.) These are some photos of our evening hanging out in Vail Village just down the road from Lionshead Village:

The last day we were there, we bit the bullet and went whitewater rafting. It was so fun! The photos of our trip are copyright protected, so I can't post them. To see them (if you want), you can go to www.sharpshooterimaging.com/glenwood and click on find action photos on (date) August 12, Tuesday, then click 0812SHOPM TIMBERLINE TOURS PM TLT. We are images 21 - 27 of the 58 that are in that group. Marc and I are in front, Marc on the front right and I'm on the front left, further away from the camara. We are both wearing blue splash jackets under our life jackets.

We rented a Hummer H3 while we were there. It really didn't drive well going up and down all those mountain roads. I don't recomment it for Colorado driving. I think it got good mileage, though.
