Well, I'm officially worn out. Asher has been waking up in the middle of the night since Thanksgiving, when all my family was here. He had to sleep in our room, so he was pampered a little. I couldn't just let him cry, so I got him back into a bad habit.
Thanksgiving was fun. As I said, my family came out and spent Thursday night, and Marc's mom came as well as a friend from church, Randy. It worked out very well. So well that it was decided that we should have it at our house every year. That made my day!

Friday, everyone went their separate ways. Marc and I went to the cities to go furniture shopping.
On Saturday, my Mom and I took Hanna and Asher on the light rail to downtown Minneapolis. Every year, the Macy's in Minneapolis (used to be Daytons) puts on an incredible holiday display. They take a theme, usually a children's book, and set up each page as a scene. People walk through the scenes and read the pages of the book. At the end, there's a gift shop and photos with Santa and homemade cookies and stuff. It's all free. Well, the cookies and the gift shop and the light rail aren't, but the rest is. It's a fun way to kick off the holiday season with our kids. Joshua was with his cousins while their parents' butchered and processed and packaged pigs with family and friends. That's how they kick off their holiday season. I like the Macy's thing myself.

Waiting at the light rail station.

"A Day in the Life of an Elf"
Asher sleeping on the train ride home. This weekend and next weekend, our church is putting on their annual Christmas production. This year, Hanna has decided to be an extra with me. We dress up like Israelites who are coming to Bethlehem for the census. She's busy learning the choir songs in her discman. This might be her big break!
Marc has been very tired lately. He thinks all the anxiety of the past year has now caught up with him.
Asher gets dedicated this Sunday. Hopefully all will go well.
I'm posting photos of the formal area of our house (the part that was not cluttered).

The favorite part of the whole house -- this sink with the well-pump faucet.

Well, more after the holidays, I'm sure. Merry Christmas if I don't post again before!
