Our moving day is Memorial Day Weekend, probably Saturday. If you're in the area, we'll welcome your help on that day. Our cabinets in the kitchen won't be in until the Tuesday after and the granite won't be in until that Thursday. We're aiming to have a functioning kitchen on Friday, the 30th of May. It'll work. It's been a long road, but God has been good through it all. Sometimes, we aren't very good at noticing His hand.
We're going to be cleaning the new house for the next 2 weeks. Bathroom cabinets went in today. We're going to go clean and stock the bathrooms today. Carpet goes in on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, then we clean EVERYTHING before the unpacking begins. Then, after the kitchen cabinets and countertops are in, we will be cleaning that area before the appliances go in. For those of you who know me, you can guess this is the part that I can do without.
Enough about the house. I never did mention in this blog that Hanna has been making a couple big steps in her social anxiety. She and her best friend had been inseparable, especially on Hanna's part. Kresson was in a way Hanna's security. Well, lately, when I pick her up from church stuff, she has been hanging around other girls. She had a play date with one of those girls who is also homeschooled, and she started talking to her for the first time. It was a big deal. Then she and another girl, who will live only about 10 minutes from us after we move, have been getting very chummy lately. She hasn't actually talked to her, but I'm sure she will if we have her over. She really likes her. She decided that she doesn't need to go to counseling right now. She is going to let me know if she wants to go again, but her counselor thought it might be good to give her a break and see how she progresses. Hanna seems to be motivated to be more socially active right now, so we'll see how she does. I think she's figuring out that the anxiety is all in her head.
I need to get going out to the house. I'll post some photos and then write more when I have more time.
